about

As Owen lies in a fetal position in the corner, pale and clammy due to the writer's block he endured from last week's spiel; I am left the glorious burden of releasing our last track into the ether...
Where to start?
I'm actually quite pleased that we can have this last moment together before you go. I feel a sense of trepidation and loss, because out of all the others, you are the one I hold the closest.
In my mind you are still the same, yet so much different from when we first started.
When you were first created all those years ago, I must admit, you came from a dark place that was etched with aggression, frustration and immaturity. I wanted to push and see how far I could do so.
At the time, your name was a stark contrast of your inner workings. And even now, only few know what lies beneath the surface.
Others of course have seen you in a completely different light. You are something they can hold on to and look to in times of comfort.
I'm still shocked when I think of this, and a sick part of me thinks
"What if they really knew what I had created you for?"
But that would actually be cruel of me.
You became a flicker of light in someone's darkness, and I would be a monster if I snuffed it out.
So now we are here, and you are free.
I want to let you know that I am proud of you. And I'm sorry I kept you to myself for so long. You have turned into a darkly mysterious, complex, and beautiful creature.
You are all I have ever wanted to be.
Simply put, you are a Sense of Grace.

lyrics

Hold my hand tightly
And follow me down.
Hold onto me tight
And show me things...I've never been shown.

Don't let the darkness
Consume your vision
Don't let yourself
Be thrown.

Squeeze the life out of me
I wont put up a fight.
Crush your lips to mine
And help put out the light.

Don't blame, Don't blame me for this
Don't blame me for your fall from grace.

about

Aurora Melbourne, Australia

In 2007, Aurora started out as a full band, consisting of a monolith of stoner-esque riffs and NoS driven vocals.

As the band progressed over the years, Aurora's (Louise Roussety & Owen Chesterton) sound evolved and came full circle to turn those same songs into the stripped back, southern tinged, folk inflected gems that you hear today.
